Last Thursday at the AGM of the Central Beach Alliance, Fred Carlson, President of the CBA resigned. He claimed behind-the-scenes actions of certain board members to elect a Director's spouse prompted him to resign.
Two of the three directors involved then resigned.
A week later, there has been no organizational meeting, and no officers appointed.
The By-laws do not allow for ordinary members to call a meeting to demand why - or recall the 2011 directors for failure to comply with Article Three, Section three of the by-laws which require the organizational meeting be conducted "shortly" after the election. The results of the election have been known for over 40 days.
Fort Lauderdale reproduces below part of a clipping of the latest press release issued by Beach Alliance for Central Beach Alliance, a blog that is not the official website of the CBA, but is fast becoming its only voice. A proposal for a website was adamantly turned down by the 2010 board with one dissenting vote - Lester Zalewski of Lauderdale Beach Management.
